COVID-19 Omicron Variant

What is the COVID-19 Omicron variant?

All viral diseases mutate rapidly, and that includes COVID-19. First, it was the Delta variant, then now, the Omicron variant.

Omicron was first discovered in South Africa.

Unfortunately, due to the very few cases, the rates of severity and death are unknown. It is also expected that individuals who are fully vaccinated may still get the disease, and that Omicron spreads more easily than the other variants.

What should we do?

All approved and authorized COVID vaccines are expected to be effective, and if anything, this surge of cases from Omicron proves how essential how important vaccines and boosters are to end this pandemic. Everything may seem scary now, but if we remain optimistic and listen to credible doctors and professionals, we can beat COVID altogether!
